A wine with an intense, fruity bouquet and characteristics aroma. The variety's ancient origins make this wine all the more fascinating.
IGT TREVENEZIE
SENSORY CHARACTERISTICS:
With an intense, fruity bouquet width its own aroma of rosé Moscato. The flavour is deliciously soft widthout being too obviously sweet.
VARIETIES USED, WITH PERCENTAGE:
Moscato rosa 100%.
PRODUCTION ZONE AND EXPOSURE:
The vines are located in the town of Prepotto, Province of Udine, at 160 m above sea level with a south eastern exposure.
TRAINING SYSTEM:
Dwarf Sylvoz.
SOIL TYPE:
Marl with a balanced composistion of clay and organic matter.
HARVEST PERIOD:
Harvesting is done at two separate times. A part of the grapes is harvested around mid September and set in the drying room for a few months. The rest is harvested late.
VINIFICATION:
Destemming and soft pressing of the whole grape for the part left to dry and maceration for 2-3 days. For all the grapes, the must cold settled and then decanted for the second fermentation with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature (16°-18°C).
MATURING AND AGING:
Left to rest on the noble lees in stainless steel vats until the spring.
FOOD PAIRINGS:
The finely-tuned and persistent flavour and aroma make this an ideal accompaniment for dry cakes as well as fresh fruit dishes. It may also be enjoyed on its own so as to fully appreciate its flavour and aroma.
